| — | Ken Levine (Creator of Bioshock) talks about the how any plans to make a film adaptation of the beloved Video Game series, are dead. |

I can’t fault Mr. Smith for trying to do something different, and believe me. This is about as different as you can get when it comes to what people have come to expect from a Kevin Smith film.
RED STATE is a very well written movie, almost to well I would say. If you were expecting to see a movie that makes fun of people like Fred Phelps, and for good measure have a few dick and fart jokes peppered throughout the film. Then you may be disappointed.
The film stands as more of a commentary on how these types of Churches and the people who run or attend them, operate within our society. It also effectively touches on how our Government deals with these types of religious groups.
It is an eye-opening film, and a somewhat shocking one at that. Mostly because it doesn’t candy-coat a damn thing. The cast (most notably Michael Parks and John Goodman) were incredible. Parks portrayal of Abin Cooper in unsettling, scary, and intriguing all at the same time.
I think this is gonna be a love/hate relationship for Smith fans as they see RED STATE. I personally am extremely impressed that Smith put himself out there and put this thing together. But the film (other than some great performances and a very intense and well-written story) just doesn’t do much for me. It’ll be one of those movies that you’ll have to watch a few times to fully grasp and understand what the film and its Director were trying to say.

Kevin Bacon is in talks to join Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges in a film-adaptation of R.I.P.D. Which is about a murdered cop who joins an elite squad of undead Police who patrol the other side against evil of all kinds from getting into the real-world. All the while the man is on a mission to find the person who ended his life.
Kevin Michael Connolly was born without legs, but that didn’t stop the man from winning a Silver Medal in Skiing at the Winter X-Games. So you might think that this story alone would merit a film, but it is for something more incredible and eye-opening that Connolly did that is the basis for a new film.
Connolly after constantly being gawked and stared at began taking photos of the people who were curious about the man without legs, and soon he amassed quite the collection and began posting the photos online. The series of photographs caught the attention of The Smithsonian Institute and Connolly’s photos became part of a traveling exhibition. He later wrote Double Take: A Memoir which is the basis for the film simply titled, Double Take.
Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) is up for a major role in Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL. Not sure what role it is yet, but let the speculations begin.
